Sesotec shows new Varisort sorting system at Ifat

The Varistort system presented by Sesotec is especially suitable for the sorting of solid waste materials such as metal waste, plastics, and electronic waste, but can also be used for the sorting of residual waste.

The new Varisort sorting system separates recyclable materials (plastics, metals) from solid waste. With its outstanding flexibility the system is a future-proof investment and allows a quick and cost-effective response to changes such as new regulations or different materials.

Depending on the application the housing design of the Varisort system can be individually configured with various sensors, e.g. colour / shape sensors, sensors for material detection based on NIR (near infrared) with HSI (hyperspectral imaging) technology, and metal sensors. The latter as an option can be configured with detection for stainless steels (differentiation between ferrous, non-ferrous, and VA). The new Varisort system is available in four working widths and two conveyor belt lengths with configurable speed setting.

Another new feature is the system’s “SesoDesk” operating software with new octa-core technology. Octa-core technology allows a higher resolution, more complex image processing, and parallel signal evaluation of sensor information especially in case of multi-sensor use. 31 simultaneous evaluation lines (Evallines function) guarantee highest possible flexibility even in demanding sorting tasks.

Explains Michael Perl, Sesotec Head of Sorting Recycling: “Due to the expansion of our international activities in the field of Sorting Recycling we know about the demand of our customers for individually matched sorting solutions also in the field of household waste. Another important aspect is the development of typical plastic bottle recycling towards mixed-plastics recycling, i.e. not only the actual PET or HDPE bottles are used for the production of recycled plastics, but also other types of packing materials originating either from plastics collections or from household waste fractions.”

The Sesotec subsidiary KRS Recycling Systems as co-exhibitor also will be present at the IFAT stand with the K9 FLASH Octopus glass sorting system.
